This was Ian’s last contribution to the Funtime line of magic, which he had corresponded with Sam Dalal about just days before his passing away.

Two blank playing cards, two envelopes with cut-out windows.
The cards are placed one in each envelope so that the halves of both
the red and blue backs can be seen through the cut-out windows. Then
the surprises begin!

Effect: Two playing cards are removed from two envelopes with cut-out windows. Both are blank face cards. The back design of both is the same, but one is Blue and the other is Red.

The cards are placed one in each envelope so that the halves of both the red and blue cards can be seen through the cut-out windows.
Two spectators are asked to choose a card from two different decks – one with a red back and the other with a blue back. They are asked to place their cards face down on the table.

Kicker number 1: The performer says that the cards will magically change places, from one envelope to the other. Magician casts his magic spell, but nothing apparently happens. However, when the cards are taken out from the envelopes their back designs are seen to have changed partially – as only half of each back has magically travelled from one envelope to the other. Each card now has a half blue, half red back design.

Kicker number 2: For the climax when both the cards, which originally had blank faces, are turned face up, it is seen that they have magically been printed to regular playing cards with pips. And both the cards miraculously match the spectators’ selected cards.

We supply you with all the special cards, the special window envelopes, and detailed illustrated instructions.

You need to supply two regular decks (red and blue backed) - though you could also perform this with two cards “selected” from a regular deck.

No sleights, the effect is self working with the props supplied. A recommended addition to any close-up performer’s pocket of props !
