Magician takes out a small notepad and tears a page from it. He talks about how powerful our thoughts (or willpower) are and how it affects our day-to-day activities. He says, "Let me explain," and then writes “I Can’t Do It” on the paper and hands it to the spectator to read, adopt this negative thought in their mind, and try to tear the paper. The spectator finds she is unable to do so.

The magician takes back the note and on the other side he writes “I Can Do It” He gives it back to the spectator to read and adopt this new positive thought in their mind and try to tear the new note. Surprisingly this time the spectator can easily tear the note.

Once the spectator has succeeded in tearing the note, you can ask her to try once more. She will be unable to do so. The magician says “Confidence is good but Overconfidence is bad. Sometimes you just have to be a magician,” and then proceeds to tear up the paper.
